Purpose
This Malaysian Standard specifies safety and performance requirements for public outdoor playground equipment designed for 5th percentile of a 2-year-old to the 95th percentile of a 12-year-old to reduce life-threatening and debilitating injuries. It excludes residential play equipment, toys, amusement rides, sports or fitness equipment for users over 12, specialized equipment for infants aged 6 to 24 months, soft contained play structures, and site furnishings outside the use zone (such as benches and shade structures).
