Tujuan utama konsultasi awam ini adalah untuk mendapatkan maklum balas daripada pihak-pihak berkepentingan bagi pembatalan Peraturan-Peraturan Jualan Makanan dan Dadah (Clioquinol) 1982 bagi membolehkan
(a) clioquinol and other halogenated hydroxyquinoline compound termasuk halquinol dipertimbangkan untuk diimport bagi tujuan pendidikan saintifik, penyelidikan atau analisis kimia tertakluk pematuhan kepada Akta Racun 1952; dan
(b) halquinol dipertimbangkan untuk diimport bagi tujuan rawatan haiwan tertakluk pematuhan kepada Akta Racun 1952 dan Peraturan-Peraturan Kawalan Dadah dan Kosmetik 1984 (PKDK 1984).
Pelaksanaan konsultasi awam ini adalah selaras dengan Dasar Negara Bagi Amalan Baik Peraturan (National Policy on Good Regulatory Practice - NPGRP).

a) Akta Perubatan 1971 [Akta 50];
b) Akta Pergigian 2018 [Akta 804]; dan
c) Akta Doktor Veterinar 1974 [Akta 147]
2. Ahli farmasi berdaftar di bawah Akta Pendaftaran Ahli Farmasi 1951 [Akta 371]
3. Pemegang lesen di bawah Akta Racun 1952 [Akta 366]
4. Pemain industri farmaseutikal (pengilang, pengimport, pembekal, penjual, pengedar, pemegang pendaftaran produk)

I support the cancellation of the Sale of Food and Drugs (Clioquinol) Regulations 1982, as this regulation is contradicting with the Poison Act and CDCR. Poison Act and CDCR itself are sufficient to control its manufacturing and use in Malaysia.
